Hip Toronto Bars

Updated: Nov 26, 2020

I'm always looking for the chill bar to check out, but I've been sober for months due to Covid19, here are my favourites to hit up when the time is right.

Admittedly, it's a bit loud so it's hard to chat for a long time, but the lighting is just right, there are daily specials and cocktails are creative yet affordable with Bang Sue Bar.

11 Charlotte Street, Toronto, ON, M5V 2H5

Tip: The bar is on the second floor of the restaurant Khao San Road. Personally I liked The Golden Age, which is Thai tea.

Get a round of drinks before hitting the ping pong tables (and you can drink while you play as there is a place to put your drinks) at Spin Toronto.

461 King Street West Lower Level, Toronto, ON, M5V 1K4

Also loud here but sometimes there are events where they open up the dance floor, but first you should grab mojitos and cool cocktails like Queen Bee at Belfast Love Public House.

548 King St W, Toronto, ON, M5V 1M3

Probably the most upscale bar I've been to with $20 cocktails, but I mean it's inside Fairmont Royal York. I like the retro decor and the cute little snacks that get refilled by stellar staff at Library Bar.

100 Front Street W, Toronto, ON, M5J 1E3

Hint: The entrance is a bit hidden, but there are concierges in the building who can help. The location is quite convenient though as it's across from Union Station.

Let loose with spirits and a round of bowling at The Ballroom Bowl.

145 John St, Toronto, ON, M5V 2E4

Get a light buzz going before getting competitive in arcade games at The Rec Room.

255 Bremner Blvd, Toronto, ON, M5V 3M9

Head to the second floor for the rooftop patio while indulging in fancy cocktails at Gusto 101.

194 Queen St W, Toronto, ON, M5V 1Z1

Ask your bartender to make you whatever your heart desires since there is no cocktail menu at Civil Liberties.

878 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON, M6G 1M5

Jive to live jazz at The Rex Hotel Jazz and Blues Bar.

194 Queen St W, Toronto, ON, M5V 1Z1

Tip: If there is no cover, it's etiquette to tip the band at the end.

Ping pong bar alternative if you live uptown at Whiff Waff Bar & Lounge.

115 York Blvd Unit 9, Richmond Hill, ON, L4B 3B4
