Travel Itinerary to New York City
Updated: Oct 27, 2020
I was tasked with drawing a plan from scratch for a road trip to NYC with two of my girlfriends! It was both a success and a fail. Some people like to follow a strict schedule, while others like to simply have an idea of what to do and wing it- I definitely consider myself the latter. However, my friends are the former so I had to deliver.
I present to you, the best day of the itinerary.
Be warned: lots of walking. My friends are not Uber-ers like me.
Horse carriage ride at Central Park.
59th Street to 110th Street, between Fifth Avenue and Central Park West
Pro tip: save yourself the time and don't bother haggling like my friend did, none of the vendors will budge. The ride isn't too expensive if you have 2-3 other companions! Alternatively, you can also rent a bike to ride around the park.
Walk through Times Square.
Manhattan, NY, 10036
Eat a huge slice of 99 cents pizza for lunch at 2 Bros Pizza.
557 8th Ave or 542 9th Ave, New York, NY 10018
This was a bit spontaneous as I passed two of these pizza parlours on my way to the Vessel.
Explore the Vessel, 20 Hudson Yards, New York, NY, 10001.
This giant Stairmaster structure opened in March 2019 and is free to explore. You have to book a time slot either through their website or the machines onsite. Worth it for the gram.
What it looks like from the inside.
To get to Chelsea Market, walk through the High Line.
Entrance to the bridge is near the back side of the Hudson Yards mall next to the Vessel. There are security guards around to help you if you can't find it. West Side of Manhattan, NY, 10011
Walk around boutique shops in Chelsea Market.
75 9th Ave, New York, NY, 10011
Hint: There is a basement level if your feet are still alive.
Eat dinner at Los Tacos No. 1, which is located inside Chelsea Market.
Note: There are so many other food stalls to choose from if you're not feeling Mexican food that day!
